This year, I was asked to make a Minecraft themed cake. This was yet another challenge for me, considering I had never heard of it prior to this either! At least doing these birthday cakes is keeping me up with what is "hip" with the kiddos. hehe. The little green man, TNT barrels, sign, and girl were all handmade from gumpaste. The letters and numbers were created with cookie cutters, and as painful as it is - YES all those little squares were indivudal cut (also with a cookie cutter). Want to take a guess how many there are? (1,044 - Yes I counted.) She really seemed to love it!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Although I have been baking since I was a little girl I have just recently started decorating cake professionally. If you like what you see, follow me or/and subscribe by email. I love hearing from all of you. Comments are always welcome! Don't hesitate to send me an e-mail, samantha.h.aguilera@gmail.com , with questions about any of the posts and/or orders. Leave me some love! :)

Monster High
I was approached by a father who wanted a Monster High cake for his daughters birthday. This was a challenge for me due to the fact that I do not have children, and had absolutely no idea what Monster High was. After looking at a lot of pictures and doing my "research" this is what I came up with. She really loved both the cakes and the cake pops.
The logos were hand made with gum paste. Yes it took a while! The diamond pattern was cut using the cricut cake.

SpongeBob Cake
For whatever reason, my husband likes SpongeBob. So for his birthday this year I decided that I would make him a SpongeBob Cake. He absolutely adored it, and the waiters at the restaraunt we went to did as well! I suppose I can call this one a success :)
